• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

I volunteer to help co-DM. You can expect Zrantox to return, and possibly the duo of Yata-Sasori and Effigei

Okay, so this is what I have so far for the new crossover, besides rules: Name: Possibly "After the Day - A Call to Arms" DM: Myself Co-DM: Cheatmaster, Shining Eevee, Storm Earth and Fire, Black Yoshi 99. WOuld that be enough to fully consider getting this show on the road?

I like the idea of "After the Day" being somewhere in the title, but I need to think of something "darker in tone" as Storm put it, and I'm not sure what it could be. Though something along the lines of "After the Day - Call to Arms" might be a good option

Okay, now that it's clear that the next Crossover plan is liked, I need to think of a title, and I need to start recruiting co-DMs, who will have the option of being Council members. A co-DM will need to help run the plot of the RP forward, and possibly think of further plot points for the RP...

This is what I Sent to SE: Any Co-Dm would automatically be slotted for a position in the Council. Others would be either the hit men, characters doing what they can to survive, or a character trying to bring down the Council and/or looking for "W." What do you think?

After much thinking, I am willing to recruit a few Co-DMs (such as you, Storm) to help me run this, since I know that I can't run an RP on my own. Also, I've PMed SE with a bit of a "first draft" of the plot, and f I don't receive a response in a few days, I'll put it up here and see what you...

The last one died out about a month ago, and the above quote is my and SE's attempt at another one. The "jumping from world to world" idea has proven itself to fall flat, so the dystopian continent is another possibility for multiple franchises. I, however, am a bit reluctant to DM this one...

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to do such a thing by posting here after all this time, but considering how vital this thread used to be in terms of RP planning, and how it should have been stickied a long while ago, I think there can be justification in that. Anyways, SE and I have yet again been...

Stormecho: Allow me to give you my view: Doitdoitdoitdoitdoitdoit! We could pick up from where we left off, or we could start again. Flora: I'd rejoin it, and I'm leaning more toward Johto or Orre

That's actually a pretty good backstory, Blastoise. A good plot point that I just considered would involve neutral characters that I mentioned to MG earlier, and that they can play for either and/or both sides of the conflict

Okay, I PMed FMC, and she gave me the link to the Duel Simulator. This is it, and if you have any questions, refer to this webpage.

I would assume she's either forgotten or her friend hasn't yet linked it. We might as well ask, in case she did forget. Still, I'd like more than one public vote on which RP to use, because I think both ideas are indeed worth playing.

I don't want to start off until we have a tried-and-true duel system. Otherwise, it would take countless posts to resolve a single chain

MG's idea does sound interesting. Back on the subject of the YGO RP, though. Which plot idea would the public prefer?
  15. E

Yes. Those who are evil will get their greedy little hands on the monster that's their medium. I expect one member to Beeline for DaD. I personally stake a claim to Dark Horus and Horus LV8. I'm not quite sure if I should drop grepher and put in Dark Voltanis.

Again, that system has potential. But, it has the same exact problem that this duel-sim FMC mentioned solves: the turn-based system can be difficult to handle if it's done improvised. If the duel sim works, we could have the duels that way, but still follow the whole "get rarest cards later on"...

That could work. It sounds like it has potential. And I like how there's someone out there besides me that runs Blue-Eyes Shining. He's a very underrated card.

60 maximum. And I like your idea for how we would draw, but that still doesn't solve how we would, say, work chaining cards to other cards (see here.) @Jason-Kun: How would that- in context, for lack of a better word -work out? How long would it take to, say, use a Blue-Eyes?
  19. E

    Idea Center

Inspiration has struck me. What if it didn't involve duel academy? Consider this: Nine is a bit of an "iffy" number, by the way. The nine monsters that would be used would be Dark Horus, The Dark Creator, Dark Nephthys, Dark Armed Dragon, Dark Simorgh, Darklord Zerato, Darknight Parshath...

Another thing that worries me is the turn-based system. It's not like ASB (as far as I know.) The card game's various phases and spells and traps being able to work on the opponents turn would get a bit tricky.
